On 8th August 2016, a fatal accident happened at Tuas at a construction work-site.

A group of workers were lifting a form work for the casting of walls of a stairwell. During the lifting process, one of the chains snapped and swing over and hit a worker standing nearby. The worker was sent to the hospital immediately but announced dead eventually.

The main contractor of the work-site has been requested to stop all lifting work within the work-site.
