On 3 September 2016, an accident happened at a construction worksite.

A worker was cutting some metal casing. A crane nearby was lifting a metal pipe to be placed into a bored hole. The pipe fell and struck the worker while dislodging from the crane’s hook. The worker was conveyed to hospital but eventually announced dead afterwards.

MOM has ordered all work to be stopped within the worksite. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
